Sean Long has been warned that he faces action from the Rugby League over betting allegations in his newly-published autobiography. The former Great Britain scrum-half, who faces Leeds in the Super League Grand Final on Saturday, was suspended along with his then St Helens team-mate, Martin Gleeson, for backing Saints to lose at Bradford in 2004. Now he could be called upon to justify those claims, according to the RFL's spokesman, Craig Spence.

They're refusing to comment on allegations more players were involved in the 2004 betting scandal that led to Long being banned for three months and his former teammate, Martin Gleeson, for four. Both were fined £7,500. Long, who faces home town club Wigan in tonight's second playoff semi-final, claims other Saints stars and opponents from Bradford put money on a weakened St Helens to lose by more than nine points.
